Hurricane Helene became one of the most devastating storms to strike the Southeast, cutting off communities, destroying infrastructure, and leaving families isolated overnight.
When roads were impassable, our volunteer pilots took to the skies.
In the days that followed, Operation Airdrop launched the largest grassroots aviation response in U.S. history, mobilizing hundreds of volunteers, pilots, donors, and partners to deliver hope where it was needed most.
Our Impact:
Over 673 flights carrying life-saving supplies into hard-to-reach areas
Partnerships with local emergency management and volunteer groups
Thousands of pounds of food, water, medical supplies, and recovery tools delivered
Countless acts of courage, compassion, and community
This report captures the stories, data, and human spirit behind that historic mission.
It honors the people who answered the call, from the first pilot wheels up to the last delivery completed.
